Regency Romance Book Reviews: The Wicked Wyckerly by Patricia Rice & Rescuing Lord Inglewood (Inglewood #1) by Sally Britton
![]() My rating: 4 of 5 stars Fun plot and interesting characters I loved the story but for a couple of things. I could've done without the graphic sex. And some of the lingo seemed a bit too modern in a few places. This is the reason I gave it four stars. If neither of these things bothers you, then you should give this book a go. I often found myself smiling at the antics of some of the characters. The plot was unusual, at least to me. I couldn't wait to see how everything turned out for the hero and heroine. View all my reviews ![]() My rating: 4 of 5 stars Pleasant Tale ***Spoiler Alert*** There was a lot I liked about this story. The characters were varied and interesting. They and their dialog and mannerisms fit the era most of the time. I think I saw one out-of-era word in the dialog or character thoughts which had been missed in the editing, so not bad. The setting was lovely. I enjoyed the way the heroine worked within society's bounds to overcome her trials. Things I didn't like were how the dead brother coming back was so much hinted to. I knew he'd come back, so it was a bit of a let-down when it happened. Also, the face-off between the "villain" and the hero seemed anti-climactic. He should've "planted him a facer." □ This was a good story, though. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys sweet, clean, Regency romance. View all my reviews
Anyone who faithfully reads Regency romance will know what the phrase "plant a facer" means. But if some of my readers don't, then click here to visit a nifty Regency glossary I found online.
