I'm looking at my title and wondering how many people are as picky about the spelling of the word 'yea'. A lot of folks spell it phonetically 'yay' but isn't that technically incorrect? ...Unless the "dictionaryists" have dubbed it allowable in the last decade or so. I'd rant about it but it's not productive or peaceful so I'll shrug my shoulders, spell it "yea" and move on. XD I'm tackling several challenge this month. Two are photo challenges for book giveaways and I'll be sharing those with my book reviews on Wednesdays since they're related. One is a homeschool challenge. It's my first one of those and since I started an IG account for our homeschool, I'll share those on the MPHSA blog and IG account. You can read that by clicking here if you're interested. The last three are totally writing related and I'll share those here on Fridays all month long. Are you ready? Let's go! #AuthorWIPUp This challenge caught my eye because it's all about inspiration boards. If you've been reading my blog for any length of time, you know I /love/ putting those together. LOL #FantasyWIPAugust You might notice I keep coming back to these fantasy WIP challenges. They're always fun! My writing goals (Day 1 prompt with no photo) for August are pretty straightforward. The three things I want to accomplish are:
Zek suffers several losses (not all dealing with death but all dealing with separation and spiritual surrender in some way). So I felt like the song "I'll Think About You" by We Are Messengers fit him really well. "Something About Us" by Daft Punk. fit for the Lovers Theme Song prompt. I have to thank my son for that one. I had no idea how to find a song that would fit the tension between Zek and Liha and the forces keeping them from following through on their love for each other. This song was perfect! I'll share both below if you'd like to listen. :) (That's something I /can't/ do through IG.) I think the rest of the prompt photos are self-explanatory. But you might be interested to know the top two are from OLUS, the middle two are from my new novellette, and the bottom two are from book three. The rough draft for "Surge" is still missing quite a bit so I'll complete it during Nano 2019.
#WIPLinebyLine August Run I'm not doing so great on this one. We've been out of the house a lot since the new month started. I've mostly stuck to blogging, trying to prep my posts for this month. Planning posts in advance is something I want to do, but at the same time, I want to keep the posts current. I have a hard time equating 'current' with the past month. *shrugs* So until I can equate the two, my blog posts will probably just be put together for the upcoming month the weekend before the month starts or the first week of the month. This week was pretty rough. I'm actually amazed at what I've been able to do with these challenges and even though I've missed some days, they were few. I think I can count this week a win, even though most of my writing was blog-related. I'm still writing and I'm still making it through. Thanks for sticking with me!
