Robin Takes The Scenic Route

June 2020 Writing Challenge Week 4

6/26/2020

Welcome back! I'm not wrapping up the challenge I started this month all in this post. That would perhaps be an overload for my dear readers. Instead, I'm going to put out one post on July 1st which will include a book review, a current read, something I'm adding to my #TBR list, and the final five days of the writing challenge responses. That in itself, might be a bit much all at once, but that post will be the last one for at least a month, maybe two, as I take a short haitus to focus on updating my blog and website. I hope you'll sign up for my newsletter which will definitely go out as it usually does each month. I'll keep readers updated on my progress that way.
Now...on with the challenge!

#1WordPromptChallenge Week 4 Days 19 - 25

Keeping it super simple, here are the prompts and the lines I shared for each day:
  • Day 19 - Space - Her family would've known and backed away to give her space. The hulking stranger before her did not.
  • Day 20 - Perfume - He delved into the cool green of her eyes, breathed deep the sharpness of jinj which hovered around her.
  • Day 21 - Stench - The stench of auzi'ide assaulted the Serafin, the breeze rife with it. She wrinkled her nose.
  • Day 22 - Obvious - Eiva was obviously Genzetti. The female was head and shoulders taller than her companion, well-muscled and broad-shouldered.
  • Day 23 - Obscure - "Don't you remember anything?" So Outh'n was here, too?
Kol stared at the two for a long while searching his memories to find the elusive event they hinted at. The last thing he remembered was the Serafin'an leading them a merry chase into... "The maze."

  • Day 24 - Window - The windows on either side were woven lattice, made of living branches.
  • Day 25 - Door - The Serafin slammed the mind-door which led down a deadly path and the smile fled her face like a child whose finger had been caught between it and the jamb.

Thank you so much for all the support and encouragement you've given me. When I see a rise in the traffic stats concerning my blog posts, I admit it's a huge boon. Maybe I am being heard and that means so much to me.
Don't forget to come back next Wednesday for the final post before I take that haitus. I'll see you then!
