Do you enjoy writing? I do and I learned exactly how much I love it when I participated in my first National Novel Writing Month event in November 2016. I wrote my first full-length novel over the course of the next year and published it in November 2018.
Does every Nano participant do this? Not at all! Some just write because they enjoy it, without thought of publishing their work. Others participate to hone their writing skills. Nanowrimo is for every writer, whether pro, intermediate, or complete beginner -- whether the goal is writing with a view to publish or writing for the love of words.
This month, I'm going to be sharing weekly updates on my progress during the first round of Camp Nano. Click to read more about how things went during my first week.
#1WordPromptChallenge Days 27 - 31
I think I finished out pretty strong in the challenge this time. At the very least, I'm happy with what I was able to share. :) Check out the prompts and snippets below:
Day 27 - King -
Day 28 - Commoner -
Day 29 - Exotic -
Day 30 - Usual -
Day 31 - Stop -
#30DaysofGratitude Challenge Days 27 - 30
Again, this challenge was pretty easy to keep up with once I got caught up. I had so much fun creating the stories with the little gifs added in. I haven't figured out how to stitch them all together in one video to load on YouTube yet, but I will do that one day. I think I'll have to use Davinci Resolve to get it all together because my usual video editing program, Animotica, won't show the IG story videos for some reason, even though I've downloaded them as mp4 files. <sigh> Life = Learning
Anyway, here were the last prompts of the month:
#CampNanoApril2019 Progress Week 1
I'm going to try to update you on my progress throughout the month. If you see blank spaces, know that with more people working from home, my internet is even more sketchy than usual. I'll update as I can, though. Please bear with me!
Read on to check out a new kind of challenge I'm taking on this month.
#30DaySongChallenge Days 1 - 3
Music is a huge part of my life. Honestly, there's probably a song for each thing that every happened to me on my life journey. This challenge gives participants a prompt every day and they find a song that fits. Here are my first two:
#1WordPromptChallenge Days 1 - 2
I decided to go ahead and do this again, even though I'm working through Camp Nano edits. Who knows? I might find inspiration within the prompts for troublesome plot holes and sticky situations. I'm going to try to get these snippets out to you every week. But I can't make any promises. Again, if there are blank spaces, I'll update the posts as my internet allows.
Here are the prompts from the first two days:
Day 1 - Forward -
Day 2 - Spring -
Ripples (Children of Y'Dahnndrya book 1) on sale now!
So what do you think so far? What songs would you choose for those two prompts? I'd love to hear from you in the comments below. I'll try to answer them as soon as I can, though it may be next month. I want to really focus on editing this month so I can get that much closer to publishing Surge. So exciting!
Come back next week and I'll share a little more about the difference between Nanowrimo and Camp Nanowrimo. I'll also share more of the songs I've enjoyed in my life. See you soon!
