I almost always have posts set up in advance for times when I can't get Weebly's editor to load. My apologies for almost two weeks of silence. In the interim, I've been working on the digital bits for Surge (Children of Y'Dahnndrya book 2) this week. Well, I'm working as the internet will allow. I have to download all the elements I need for the cover art, as well as research what others are doing with their covers to make sure mine lines up with genre and still meets what I want to see when I pick up my book.
Fantasy Book Review: Echoes of the Gidat by Emé Savage
Echoes of the Gidat: The Genesis Chronicles Book 1 by Emé Savage
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Wow! Blown away...
I loved this book! The world building, characters and plot were all very well done. I love the creation story and how everything plays out. I have the ebook and there were a few formatting issues, as well as a few typos. But none of those issues would make me stop reading. I will be re-reading this book in the future, too, I'm certain. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys epic fantasy, rich new worlds, and characters who are easy to love.

I cannot tell you how surprised I was while reading this book. I follow the author on IG and have had her book in my TBR list for far too long. She read and reviewed my book and mentioned we had similar ideas, so I made certain to read hers as soon as I could. How cool is it to find someone who shares similar beliefs /and/ also writes fantasy? I'm so excited to have found this series and I can't wait to read the next book.
#CurrentlyReading: The Pursuit of God & Hiding With the Billionaire
Both images are linked to the Goodreads page for the book. I posted two photos because Goodreads isn't updated with the new book cover just yet and it's far to awesome not to share. I hope you'll take a moment to check out this super exciting series which is unlike anything else I've read to date. Like I said before, this author and I have some similar ideas about worldbuilding. Emé Savage has written a totally unique fantasy epic which you won't want to miss.
May Writing Challenges
I'm letting you know today about the writing challenges I decided to participate in because there are several. I haven't had much of a chance to post lately. I've been spending time with my husband and daughters and also helping a friend edit his book. Between all those things and trying to get in some time for myself, it's all I can do just to get in some working time on my own projects. But I'm going into these challenges with an 'as I can participate' attitude. All photos are linked to the hosts' Instagram pages or their original challenge post. (Be sure to check out the other two IG accounts which I couldn't link except here: @jo.write.s & @drinkcoffeeandreadbooksgifts )
I put this together in a rush, so I hope you'll forgive typos. I hope with this post, I can get this blog back to the normal Wed/Friday routine. My apologies again for the unplanned absence and I hope you enjoy what I've shared and find something to add to your own TBR and/or quarantine activity list!
