Robin Takes The Scenic Route

October Writing Challenge Days 25 - 31 - Conclusion; Nanowrimo 2019 Begins!

11/1/2019

This marks the end of the #1WordPromptChallenge and I hope you've enjoyed the posts I've shared. I know some of them were not about writing, but I assure you they contribute. I am more than just an author and ever activity I pursue inspires me in many different ways. Some of the things I learn while doing non-writing activities will show up in my written work from time to time. :) Anyway, check out my last week of challenge prompts, minus one day.

#1WordPromptChallenge Days 25 - 31

Here's the run-down:
  • Day 25 - Dull - I missed a photo post for this day but the fabric I was working with on this day was dull indeed. Linen cotton blend fabric isn't the most shiny, or the smoothest to the touch. It's perfect for creating clothing items that need a bit of weight to hang properly, though. I can't wait to show y'all the end product!
  • Day 26 - Truth - The prompt #truth had me chuckling as I decided on this default lettering/background pairing in the #quotescreatorapp. I finished two of my sewing projects today. Tomorrow is glove and coif day. I hope the gloves come out well. It's my first time sewing that kind of intense project. I'm tired, but things are coming together well. Update since I posted this on IG: I am not making the gloves at this time. I found a pair of already made gloves in the right color so...whew! I will attempt the pattern at a later date, though. It could come in handy to know how to make gloves.
  • Day 27 - Lie - I found this quote on Goodreads and thought I'd share it for today's prompt.
"The most harmful lies and the most hurtful, always contain a grain of truth," he said. "But nevertheless, lies they do remain." - Robin Jarvis (Whortle's Hope)

I think lying is perhaps my biggest pet peeve. It infuriates me when someone lies to me. I can deal with a lot of different things, tolerate many kinds of differences of opinion. But a liar can't be trusted. Once trust is lost, can friendship continue? I do believe in second chances, though.
  • Day 28 - Up - My short story binders are piling up as I prep for Nano 2019! I'm so excited that I've gotten all my outlines ready to go and I have a few ideas in my head for a couple more short story beginnings. I'm looking forward to see what I can accomplish during Nano this year.
  • Day 29 - Down - It's amazing what you can see if you look down. These are some of my favorite wildflowers. They really brighten my day when I see a bunch of them blooming and they bloom all around my house. I assume they are similar to chamomile but I'm not certain.
  • Day 30 - Family - My family is my main source of inspiration and encouragement. I love them very much and am so blessed to have most of them with me. Only one of mine is far away. One day, maybe we'll get a family photo with all of us in it. LOL Until then, what I have will have to do.
  • Day 31 - Finish - Is anything ever completely done? I'm of the mind that things could always benefit from some improvement. And even when a physical project is complete, if you wish to keep it in good condition, you must take regular care of it. So is any project ever truly finished?

What's Next?

Picture
Nanowrimo 2019 is next! Yep. Starting today, I'm working on those short stories I've been talking about all during Preptober 2019 (October). Every Friday in November, I'll be giving you an update on my Nano progress and sharing a snippet or two from what I worked on that week. That's my main challenge for the month. I may also participate in the #1wordpromptchallenge again if it coincides with what I'm writing that day. I have no intention of overloading myself like I tend to do. I hope you'll stick around and cheer me on.

See you next week!
